October 10...

I havne't blogged in a while...I NEED to blog...
So much has been going on...hubby is working at an awesome job, with a schedule that allows me to increase my hours as a peer counselor.  I'm going to be working on setting up playdates for breastfeeding outreach.  My sheep went to a new home :( (this is in case our house sells over the winter, then they don't need to be transported in the cold.)  We have a new van (yay!) and the ability to safely travel to Mass. to visit my Auntie!  G loves kindergarten, but M is having trouble in second grade...he's not paying attention and has been sent to the student support room for it...I do NOT believe in sending a child to that room just for not paying attention.  If he had been disruptive, sure.  So, homeschooling is forefront in my mind again.  So much going on...
As far as M goes, I was thinking, "How will I do this?  How can I balance the baby, housework, my work, and homeschooling?"  But then I thought, "How can I not???"  He is so upset by school that he has meltdowns about it.  How can I not make sure that his well-being is taken care of?  It is important to have a love of learning, exploring, finding things out, but the way he's headed, he's always going to hate it.  I feel bad taking them out of school, but on the other hand, they know many of the homeschooled kiddos in the area already, as many are other peer counselors' children or LLL families, and will still be able to see them at homeschooling meet ups.
I think all this has been brought out by the autumn weather, as well...autumn, for me, is a time of reflection, a time when my spirituality and sense of self is brought up often.  It also brings up family...and my family is very important to me.  When I see that they are struggling, it's upsetting...I FEEL for them...I want the best for them...my Mama-Wolf comes out and I want to growl at things that are blocking their paths.  I also know that no matter how much I give of myself, they need to learn and grow on their own, and I need to take a step back and do soemthing for me.  And that, coincidently, leads me to a plug-in for http://www.confessionsofapagansoccermom.com/2011/10/giveaway-old-world-witchcraft-by-raven.html
I read Mrs. B's blog often, and watch for her links on facebook everyday.  Reading gives me a break in my day, when I don't have time to dance (oh wait, I didn't mention I teach a bellydance class Tuesday nights as well, did I?) and I had actually been looking on Amazon earlier for a new book to read...but then I checked out Mrs. B's blog and saw that her giveaway today is Old World Witchcraft by Raven Grimassi.  Raven Grimassi is an awesome author, and I had looked at this book and the reviews and wanted to give it a shot.
So, on that note, I'm off to write up the paperwork for the homeschooling office...
